Grachtenmuseum Amsterdam tells the story of the Amsterdam canals: about the past, present and future. The history of the Amsterdam canals is told in an accessible way to reach and inspire as many people as possible.

Vision

Grachtenmuseum Amsterdam brings the history of the Amsterdam canal belt to life and thereby provides insight into the identity of the city; the museum challenges residents and visitors to deepen their relationship with the city. The story of the canals is told in an accessible, imaginative and experience-oriented way, establishing connections between the past, present and future.

ANBI, Governance Code for Culture and annual reports

Grachtenmuseum Amsterdam (Stichting Het Grachtenhuis) has been designated as a cultural Public Benefit Organization (ANBI) as of 01-01-2012. The cultural ANBI status allows a donor to apply the tax benefits of the Gift Tax Act.

Remuneration policy

The Board and the Supervisory Board of Stichting Het Grachtenhuis receive no remuneration for their work. For the compensation of the director and other staff members, the scales according to the Museum Collective Labor Agreement (CAO) are used, without that CAO being declared applicable to Stichting Het Grachtenhuis or Grachtenmuseum Amsterdam.
