At a young age, he began exploring his own creativity and made a name for himself as an alternative graffiti artist on the streets of Amsterdam. He later studied Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. In his work, Tycho brings these two worlds together: the raw atmosphere of graffiti and the streets, and the power of visual communication.

Long Live Amsterdam

Public spaces are the stages for Tycho’s visual art and designs. With a critical eye, but also with a deep love for his hometown, he explores the growing inequality in the city. Through his work, he shows what the changes in Amsterdam mean for the city and its residents. Sometimes through direct and powerful works, sometimes with a healthy dose of Amsterdam humour.

This is also reflected in his performance ‘Lang Leve Amsterdam’ (Long Live Amsterdam), which took place on the waters of Amsterdam: the city is slowly sinking, but we continue to proudly wave the flag.

The mini exhibition Druk (pressure), by artist Tycho will be on display in the Green Salon of the Grachtenmuseum from 1 October 2026.

["post-1736","tentoonstelling","type-tentoonstelling","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
