In the Museum of the Canals, you have the opportunity to book two guided tours! The first one is an introductory tour in our period rooms which takes about fifteen minutes. The second one is a more in-depth tour that guides you through the entire museum in about an hour. In this article you can read more about both tours:
1. An in-depth tour across the entire museum
- Duration: 1 hour
- Regular entrance fee + 100 euros per hour for the guide
What does the tour look like?
In this tour, our guide takes you back in time to learn all there is to know about the history of the museum, the building, the history of the beautiful city of Amsterdam, and its world-famous canal ring. The story complements the existing audiovisual tour on the first floor but also goes further by providing more in-depth knowledge. The tour can be organized for small or large groups but has a maximum amount of 15 attendees.
2. Introductory tour in the period rooms
- Duration: 15 minutes
- Costs: 50 euros
What does the tour look like?
The introductory tour is hosted by our Duty Managers and is available for groups of up to 30 people. You are welcomed in the period rooms of the museum on the ground floor. In these rooms, you learn about the architect of the building, the people who have lived here, and the functions that the period rooms served in the past. After the tour has ended, you will have the opportunity to visit the permanent audiovisual tour about the history of the Amsterdam canal ring on the first floor.
Both our tours are very popular and are therefore limitedly available. For information about the possibilities for your group, you can visit our email, mail@grachten.museum, or give us a call: 020-4211656.
